Glebe Place

Erika & Simon's Personal Blog

Pho Ahn Vu (Downtown)

A very very popular place.

Location:

North of Wellesley on Yonge

Notes of Interest:

Large fake cherry blossom tree at the entrance

What we ordered:
  • Pho Dac Biet (Small) – $18.50
  • Pho Ga Chay Bo – $22.95

Total damage to wallet – $41.45 + tax + tip – cash discount

Thoughts:

Pho is delicious – So comforting, deep in flavour and nourishing. Small size is way too small though – so few noodles to justify the price. Definitely get large otherwise you will be still hungry. We got lucky this time, but line ups are so terribly long, not sure if this place is line up worthy, but it is early dinner worthy for sure. Water instead of tea at this type of establishment is also a dig at value. Side thought – we think the Don Mills and Richmond Hill locations are somehow better. Decor is cheerful and bright, which is our favourite. Still doesn’t beat the nostalgia of our favourite pho restaurant (which may be too shameful to say).
