Thoughts:
In all our years together, we’ve never come to this place across the street from us. We finally gave it another try after it has changed names, and I assume is under new management. Mom did say she liked it. Originally, when this place was called Oyshi Sushi, the food was so terrible that I couldn’t bring myself to go back there. We also by coincidence found out that they got caught abusing the Canadian Government LMIA program, which is supposed to bring in skilled immigrants for the business that didn’t exist in Canada…. erm… lol.
When we looked at the new menu, I realised they cut out a lot. Now, the menu is really focused on sushi. Surprisingly, the sushi was quite good! Very fresh, and the fish was very thickly sliced. Service was great, very attentive and nice. Their fried tofu came piping hot, but seems like they used soft tofu instead of firm – the inside was a bit too watery. Soup was average. Salad was pitifully sad. Their lunch menu I will say, looks like a great deal, so maybe will edit this review once I try it again. We were expecing it to be dead, but there were patrons coming in. It’s a cozy local spot. It’s starting a redemption arc.
